The Cancellations for All project started in 2024 to help people with disabilities, their families, and carers who have problems with cancelling mobile phone services. This is an accessibility issue in the telecommunications sector. Like the previous Telcos for All report, this project is funded by the Australian Communications Consumer Action Network (ACCAN). The project began because people with disabilities found it hard to cancel their mobile services and did not know about these difficulties when signing up.
The main report and supporting document share research on common issues people face when cancelling mobile services. It also looks at the support options that are available and how these issues can be improved. A second report was also made, listing other important accessibility issues, such as ID requirements, early activation, and correct postal addresses, which were not part of the initial research.
We regularly post advice, updates on telecommunications and accessibility. Explore posts based on your accessibility needs.
